About

The person behind the pipelines

I build the whole data stack, from ingestion pipelines and cloud warehouses through to the dashboards and models people actually use.

I'm a data professional based in Melbourne, working across financial services, government and community organizations. My background is building the full stack: ingestion pipelines, cloud warehouses, transformation layers, and the dashboards and models that sit on top of them.

At Principal Financial Group I found the root cause of an ingestion failure that had blocked a team for months, an unpaginated S3 listing call that silently stopped at 1,000 objects. Since then I've built a Snowflake warehouse from scratch over five years of market data, automated a weekly AWS and Airflow pipeline over APRA's public superannuation filings, and set up a not-for-profit's first analytics infrastructure, moving four disconnected systems into one cloud database serving 800+ members.

I finished a Master of Data Science at Monash University in 2026, after a Bachelor of Engineering in Information Technology from Vasavi College of Engineering in Hyderabad. Outside of the core stack (AWS, SQL, Python, Snowflake) I work with dbt, Airflow, Spark, Kafka and Power BI depending on what the problem needs.

I care about writing code that holds up under real use and making sure what I build is actually useful to someone, not just technically impressive.

The journey

From Hyderabad to here

Nine stops, one thread: build the thing, find out why it broke, build it better. Scroll for the rest.

2019

Started engineering school

Vasavi College of Engineering, Hyderabad

Began a Bachelor of Engineering in Information Technology, with coursework in machine learning, deep learning and NLP.

2023

First data engineering role

Principal Financial Group, Hyderabad

Joined as a Data Engineer on Principal Global Asset Management's product data team, owning daily ingestion of fund ratings data.

2024

Found the bug that unblocked a release

Principal Financial Group

Traced a months-old ingestion failure to an unpaginated S3 listing call. A one-line fix restored the pipeline for the whole team.

2024

Moved to Melbourne for a Master's

Monash University

Started a Master of Data Science, and took on Program Manager duties with the Monash Assistive Tech Team.

2024

First geospatial platform

Weather Together, Monash University

Built a climate risk pipeline combining 130+ years of weather data with live BOM feeds into suburb-level risk scores.

2026

Finished the Master's

Monash University

Completed the Master of Data Science, and kept building, a Snowflake warehouse, an automated APRA pipeline, an AI agent.

2025

Built a nonprofit's first data platform

UMNT Inc., Darwin

Took a community centre from four disconnected spreadsheets to one cloud database and a live Power BI dashboard, from scratch.

2026

Counted the nation

Australian Bureau of Statistics

Worked the 2026 Census as a field officer, collecting data face to face for people the standard online process doesn't reach.

Now

Looking for what's next

Open to data engineering & AI roles

Still writing pipelines, still chasing down root causes, and looking for a team that wants someone who does both.

Outside of work

Beyond the stack

A few things that have nothing to do with data pipelines, and a couple of things that were built on volunteer time instead of a payroll.
